Notice of Photography
During ISBM-12, a photographer will capture image for promotional and archival purposes. Congress photos will be exhibited in the LCD available in the Foyer; later on, photographs will be made available to ISBM-12 participants in a cloud (link to be indicated).
By entering the ISBM-12 premises, you waive and release any claims you may have related to the use of photographs, including, without limitation, any right to inspect or approve the photo, any claims for invasion of privacy, violation of the right of publicity, defamation, and copyright infringement or for any fees for use of such media.
Consent is valid until it is withdrawn in writing to the congress email address (contact@isbm12.com). Publications already completed remain unaffected by this.
Congress App
Ready to attend ISBM-12? We will use an online platform called Whova for our event. By downloading the Whova app, you can:

Scientific Awards
As an ISBM-12 participant, you will have the opportunity to vote for the best oral and best poster communication, by hiting like in the Congress app (Whova); likes are not anonymous. Please consider the scientific quality, originality of the research, and the quality of the presentation when selecting your favorites.
Winners will be announced at the Closing Ceremony. Please make sure to be there, as all presenters (except keynotes and special sessions) are eligible for these awards!
Best Photo Contest
Please make sure to upload your photos to the Congress App and vote (hit like) on your favorites! The most liked image will be recognized at ISBM-12 Closing Ceremony. Only images captured in the Congress center, surrounding gardens and Congress dinner will be considered eligible.

On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are glad to invite you to take part in the 12th International Symposium on Biological Monitoring in Occupational and Environmental Health (ISBM-12) which will be held on June 21-23, 2023, in Porto, Portugal.
This Congress is organised by the Portuguese National Institute of Health (INSA, I.P.), the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP), and the Scientific Committee of Occupational Toxicology (SCOT) of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), in collaboration with other ICOH’s Scientific Committees, namely the Scientific Committee on Nanomaterial Workers’ Health, the Scientific Committee of Rural Health: Agriculture, Pesticides and Organic Dusts and the Scientific Committee of Toxicology of Metals. ISBM-12: Next Generation Biomonitoring will continue the ISBM congress series with a multidisciplinary and holistic view of the latest developments in the Human Biomonitoring (HBM) sciences, bringing together world’s leading scientists, experts, and students. State of the art developments in different topics of HBM (e.g., biomarkers, risk assessment, and regulation), new methodologies and developing expertise will be covered in different presentation formats (keynote lectures, oral and poster sessions).
Porto is a World Heritage vibrant city whose 900-year-old history echoes around its characterful winding streets, tilled churches and seven bridges. The city offers many attractions and activities that are affordable and will make visiting the city a trip to remember. From traditional Portuguese activities like Port wine tasting to historical attractions, Porto offers great environment for ISBM-12 congress.
